Position Statement: Family Nurse Practitioners in Acute Care Settings

At its July 15-17, 2015 meeting Board members and stakeholders discussed the current position statement for Family Nurse Practitioners Practicing in Acute Care Settings. After reviewing the information, the Board voted to remove the position statement.

For scope of practice information including acceptable areas of practice, nurse practitioners should refer to Board Rule 410-12-.03(b) which states the following:

The nurse practitioner practices in a manner consistent with the nationally recognized nursing practice standards for the respective nurse practitioner specialty that is consistent with the Board-recognized national certification organization identified in Rule 410-12-.12.
